After the POP was announced, Jane was beside herself. She wanted to avoid crying in front of everyone as much as possible--even if she was sure to go home, she wanted to preserve her dignity--so she snuck off to the backyard as soon as possible.

She had JUST started forming some friendships!

She was going to be an active part of an alliance!

She had a SHOWMANCE for gosh's sake!

It didn't feel unfair or unexpected, but she would be disappointed for a while and right now she just needed to cry about it... Preferably spend some time with her friends before leaving. Natasha and Tobias, and even Stephanie (were they still friends? Jane wasn't sure) were just way too important NOT to talk to one more time.

Oh yea. Now would be a good time to grab one of them. Instead of sitting around feeling sorry for yourself.

Jane wiped her eyes (and nose) on her jacket sleeve and peeked inside the house, motioning Tobias outside when she saw him pass by.

Tobias was eagerly marching to the kitchen. All that competition and stress meant his food meter was reaching the red zone. But when he noticed Jane motion him over, he instantly forgot what he was doing and shifted course to make a beeline toward the backyard.

Tobias and Jane needed to talk game, but first, he needed to work his SMOOTH MOVES^tm and soothe his new bae. All the stories he heard from Jules meant he was now way more prepared to comfort his beautiful damsel.

He slipped through the backyard door and quietly closed it behind him. Then, he turned to Jane and opened his arms wide.

"C'mere, babycakes, Tobi's gotchu."

Jane all but hopped into his arms and held him tight. She buried her face in the crook of his neck. His jacket smelled nice. Not clean by any means, but nice. It was enough to keep her from going full meltdown. She totally didn't possibly snot on it accidentally.

When she was reasonably sure she wasn't dripping like a faucet, she pulled back from that super bro-y hug and ATTEMPTED to look him in the eye... failed... decided to look at his chest instead so it would be like cute? And she would look less anxious. Hopefully that came off as cute. She did not want to--wait was that a chest hair. GOOSH HOW MANLY.

Jane was having a lot of conflicting feelings.

"So uh... So I'm going home."

Jane actually accepted his hug! Don't just stand there. Hug her back!

He's never really had an experience with the ladies like this before. I mean yeah, he's hugged girls, but it was more of the Christian side-hug variety. This time it was full-contact, by a girl that actually likes him. He didn't even realize or care that she was getting snot all over his jacket — he was too focused on the torso-on-torso contact by the sweet Jane.

When Jane pulled back, he tried to make totally sincere eye contact. But then he noticed...Jane wasn't looking at him. Play it cool, Tobi. Don't need to look too eager or else she'll find her own Keith. He couldn't look back at her chest so he looked down at her feet.

"Nah girl, don't say that! I could go home...if I just tell Cam and Steph and Jules not to save me--"

"No, babe," she shook her head. Oooh, we're at BABE level? So forward. But, if this was going to be their last moment together, then she might as well make it count... Plus he called her babycakes, so.

"If one of us is going to go home... I want it to be me."

B-babe? Sure, Tobias called her babycakes — but babe was on a whole 'nother level. And he kinda liked it. A lot. But that was a thought better left for another time.

"Why you, girl? Better question: why ME? I mean we both know I wanna win, but the whole reason I came here in the first place is cuz of my bro-bro. But you? Homegirl, you knew you wanted this from the start."

"I did, but..." She sighed. "I-I'm thinking that might be a lot for me to handle. I made some friends, I got to be on my favorite show, I finally won something against my sister, I have a boy... Friend/ A guy friend? A you?" She looked up pleadingly. "Uh. Not to be clingy or anything."

"I could really use that money, but the idea of having to turn on everyone to get it is so scary now that I'm here... You and I were both really strong players. So. I guess for now I'd rather..."

Wow, this felt. So. Much. Like backtracking. But, Jane didn't see herself surviving this vote no matter what was said, so she was trying very hard to make it less sad for herself.

"... I'd rather win. But, I'm not going to. So I want you to go with a smile on my face and support my friends from the sidelines--including you."

Tobias nodded along with what she was saying, but looked up when she kind of said boyfriend. She kind of said boyfriend!

He snapped out of it and smiled a goofy smile. "Nah girl, ain't clingy. We both got a 'you' we like," he said while putting a hand on her shoulder. Smooth. Moves.

"How 'bout this, girly? How bout I win this for the both of us, then we take the money and buy ourselves something wicked sweet. Or wicked important. Ya know, priorities and stuff."

THAT sounded like potential commitment.

Some... Mixed feelings on that. On one hand... Hunky man meat. On the other hand... FIRST hunky man meat that she met on a reality show and hadn't gotten the chance to get to know yet.

"How about... You win, for you, because you deserve it, and I cheer you on. And, like... Maybe after the show is over..." She flushed again, paused for a moment, and finally started fumbling around searching through her pockets. "Uh... I had it somewhere..."

After some more searching, she pulled out a sheet of paper with several names and numbers scribbled on it. "You can call me, or Skype me or... I mean I'm also on WOW. A lot. We can try gaming or something?" Jane laughed nervously. She hadn't realized how many damn usernames and social media accounts she HAD until she'd written them all out. "I uh... I'm online a lot."

He saw her face drop a bit and panicked. Dangit Tobi! You did the thing! Reel it in! In Tobias's head, the less eager you are, the more attractive you seem. He was a bit too forward with Jane on splitting the money — well duh, they weren't even technically dating yet and he was already offering her prize money — and now he felt like he had to make up for it.

While also still totally making sure Jane knew he was available.

He took his hand off her shoulder and tried to look stoic as heck as he took the paper from her without looking at it. "Why thank you, Janey-Jane. Ya boi more of a table-top gamer, but maybe I'll hop on the computer for a game or two."

Then he tried to shoot a subtly sexy glance at her with a smooth smile, but it looked about as geeky as you could have pictured.

But he didn't want to leave her empty handed.

"May I...borrow your lipstick a second?"

"Uh... I don't actually know if I..." she fumbled around in her pockets. Jane had taken to NOT wearing lipstick on the off chance that 'ya boi' would plant one on her. She really didn't want a big red stain all over her face... Though little kissy marks all over Tobias WOULD keep other girls from trying to scoop her man... Who wasn't her man.... But potentially could be?

In the end she produced a lipliner pencil. "Uh, this is all I have... Why do you want my makeup again?"

Tobias didn't know what lipliner was but it looked like it would get the job done. Without missing a beat he scooped the makeup out of her hand and the glasses off her eyes. He turned around out of her view and started futzing around mysteriously.

When he was finished, he turned back around and placed the glasses firmly back on her face. The glass was now absolutely covered with makeup spelling out Tobias's phone number.

He handed her the lipliner back without a word and cooly walked back toward the house. Right before he left the backyard, he turned his head around to look back at her and motioned his hand,

Jane could NOT see what he was doing with his hands, but she assumed based on the numbers scribbled across her glasses. "Wait, Tobi, I actually want to be able to call you and I can't--!!" But her protests fell on deaf ears. Tobias had slipped away like a cool dude and left Jane to stumble around and NOT wash her glasses for fear of loosing the little dweeb's number. She ran into everything on her way to get packed for the eviction.
