He slightly blushes at Manda's first suggestion. Not over the fact two women would kiss if he failed but over the fact that Manda called Helen his date. Satoshi then looks over at Helen and he couldn't help but to slightly smile for how much she made herself look so adorable with her reaction. He promised himself that he wouldn't try to be the smartass that can be...but the situation was way too easy.

"That seems like a fair deal on the loser's end. Although, I did think about the loser shaving their head. But from the looks of it, you already got that covered."

At his comment, Manda simply smiles and strikes a pose. Girl has zero insecurities. “Oh please. You wish you looked this good~”

With the bet decided, Manda quickly got Satoshi set up on stage and went to rejoin Helen at their table. Yet another employee came out to introduce Satoshi to the restaurant patrons, ensuring that his performance would be a treat, before quickly shuffling away to continue his actual job. Manda was sitting back with a smug smile and her arm around Helen, while the other girl just let her. She was more interested in seeing how this little show would go.

[i] 'Can literally nothing phase through this girl?' He thought to himself before he felt Manda nudge him out of his seat and towards the stage. Before he could say anything to her, she was out of sight. The next thing he noticed while he standing next to who he assumes is the hired pianist (just because the elderly man didn't look too pleased) was Manda with her arm around Helen. Why does this strike him as strange? He doesn't know what Manda's intentions are but unlike being back in the house, this is a challenge he intends to win. With his new found determination, he rests his hands on the keys and presses down on them. The music soon begins to engulf him as he plays the Moonlight Sonata effortlessly.

Well. Manda couldn't deny that the rest of the restaurant goers were giving Satoshi's performance an enthusiastic (if polite and quiet) applause. She grumbled a bit and took her arm from around Helen to pull out her wallet, which she tossed into the middle of the table with a flourish when she was sure the man could see her. When she leaned over to Helen to quietly ask if he'd made any mistakes, her displeasure only grew. Ugh. Oh well, the night was young and she was sure to squash him later.

Helen on the other hand was quiet impressed. She'd half expected him to be lying about his occupation or talents just for the sake of showing off to rich young socialites, but god could he PLAY! He was fabulous! She joined in the polite applause, perhaps a little too enthusiastically to be socially acceptable, and waited to see if he would play anything else.

Hmm... Seeing the way Helen was eyeing Satoshi gave Manda an idea. She made her way back over to the stage. "Okay, cool, you can play classical music... BUT can you play something more upbeat and fun? Like uh... I dunno. Know any Sinatra?"

As the sonata came to a close, he hears the whole room applaud in a socially respectful way. Having to perform for this kind of crowd countless amounts of times, he can tell that they were please with what they heard. What stood out in the crowd was Helen clapping more excitedly then the other patrons. Did she...really like it? When the thought crossed his mind, his face started to turn red. Thank god, he's too far off for her to see.

As soon as he was about ready to stand up, he heard Manda walking up behind him asking for an encore. Although he hasn't had planned on playing another song and he happens to like Frank Sinatra's music personally...he just has never played one of his songs before. Most people who have paid him to play have wanted him to play the classics, never anything jazzy or upbeat. He's been trying to teach himself that kind of music but he hasn't got it just right yet. Gotta think of a way out of it.

"You know, I would love to but I'm not 100% familiar with Sinatra's sheet music like I am with Beethoven. I can play the Moonlight Sonata by heart but I'll have to have the sheet music to-"

Before he can finish, the old man from before shoves the sheet music for "Fly me to the Moon" into his face. Fuck this guy, he thought to himself.

"Thanks..."

She winks and starts over to the microphone. "This time, if you screw up, I won't HAVE to kiss your girl she'll be all over me~" Manda can't resist blowing a kiss to the crowd and introducing herself. A few people--likely regulars--recognize her. After all, Manda's daddy owns a share of the place and she wouldn't miss out on the chance to perform. EVER. "Just try to keep up, 'k?"

Oh god. Now Manda was joining in. This little pissing contest was getting a bit extra... Helen made a mental note to get the two going... Maybe... In a bit... Ugh, she loved seeing them pick at each other.

Satoshi raises an eyebrow in slight confusion as Manda takes the microphone. He certainly likes Helen a lot but he wouldn't go as far as to call her 'his girl.' But he doesn't plan on having daddy's little girl humiliate him in his own field of expertise. Can Manda even sing? She is certainly a woman full of surprises so he'll just have to wait and see.

"That is all up to her. And don't worry Manda, I don't intend on falling behind."

As he says this, he said that the sheet music on the stand. He hates to admit it but his heart is going a mile a minute. But his nerves soon settle as he starts to play the music. Because of the material being so new to him his fingers miss certain keys and the didn't come out just right. But as anyone in the Performing Arts must learn, you have to just go with it and make up for that mistake to save the performance. He's sure that not many of the other patrons would notice but he knows for a fact that Manda will and rub it in his face later.

Manda would be lying if she said she wasn't enjoying herself... She knew every word, beat, note, and weird factoid about this song, so she could tell when Satoshi was screwing up. She'd even shoot him a quick look every time he did so. A smirk here, sticking out her tongue there, but it was all in good fun in her mind. This dude... He was alright.

She, of course, rocked the house (as much as you COULD rock a fancy dining restaurant). Manda had a stage presence that was completely natural and irresistible, and she had been trained essentially since birth to be a performer. The girl was hot stuff.

Helen, on the other hand, was lazily watching the two as she started picking at her food (which had arrived around the time they started in on 'Fly Me to the Moon'). Still loving it, but she was loving her appetizers a bit more.

Couldn't say that he didn't see that one coming. He just shrugged off every look she gave him and continued in on until the song came to an end. But he couldn't deny the fact that Manda was actually crazy talented. Sinatra would be proud to hear her sing one of his songs...if he were alive. She has this natural charm to her that makes watching her such a delight. It's a good thing that all he has to do is sit behind a piano and say nothing.

[i] Satoshi looked out into the applauding crowd he notices Helen playing with her food, looking uninterested at what happened on stage. He realized that she was all alone at a table. It must be a very awkward situation for her to be in right now. This caused his heart to sink a little bit at the thought that he ruined his chances with a girl he actually really likes on the first 'date' he went on with her. He escorts himself back to his seat to Helen with little beads of sweat streaming down his face. Quickly patting a napkin to his forehead, he tries to wipe it away before she can notice.

"I am terribly sorry for the delay. I didn't expect there to be an encore. I hope that you weren't too bored here by yourself."

She glances up for a second, immediately noticing his nerves. Yikes. She’d have to see if she could get him to be a little more used to disappointing her… Wait what?

But, Helen put on a smile and playfully slapped at his arm. “Oh, no. The both of you were lovely! I didn’t mind at all.”

Manda was extremely tempted to keep singing, and she had NO qualms about upsetting the employees, but she couldn’t miss out on her stupid, petty and incredibly contrived plan to… Uh… Honestly she wasn’t entirely sure what the plan was at this point. Win Helen over? Always, but that didn’t have much to do with being a third wheel. Drive off Satoshi? Kinda, but she had to be a little smarter about it than she really could handle at the moment… Plus, she liked the kid in a weird, annoying sibling way. Maybe he could just be arm candy for Helen, and she could be a mistress? Ugh.

She needed a second to think through what she was even doing. She’d been doing shit just for the sake of doing it, and that was noooooooot working out very well. So, Manda shot a finger gun in the general direction of their table and went to go freshen up.

He nervously smiled back at her as he forced himself to start eating his food. He lost a bit of his appetite after he scared himself for no reason. Nonetheless, he didn't want to be rude to Manda since she was the one paying and it was his idea to come here.

Then a couple of thoughts came to him. Why is he getting so nervous? Helen is just a woman, its nothing to get too worked up over. Maybe he should just calm down a little bit and just act more natural.

There is also the question of why Manda is acting so different from how she was in the house. She was much more loose and flirting with about half the house, especially Marlee. But now she's acting much more...possessive. Calling Helen 'her girl' and saying that if she won then Helen will be all over her. Does she...no way she can't...can she?

While Manda was up on stage dazzling the crowd with another Sinatra song, Satoshi tapped on Helen's shoulder to get her attention.

"Pardon me for sounding rude, but would you mind if I asked you something about Manda?"

Helen raised a brow. Oh god, had Manda said something?? She had BETTER not mess this up!

She laughs, “Actually this is classic Manda.” She motions towards the stage, thinking he’s talking about her showing off (which she was now doing by purposefully picking difficult songs to sing). “I just go along with all her antics… There’s not a lot that she works hard for, so I don’t like to discourage her.”

Satoshi was a bit confused on what she meant. She acts that way all the time? That's a little obsessive and how anyone can just tolerate that kind of behavior is beyond him. That was until she motioned towards the stage. It came to him that he must of worded his question wrong.

"Nonono, what I mean is she acting differently towards you? Does she always seem a bit...flirty with you?"

Satoshi nodded his head in response. He should of known that Manda was that type of girl to be protective. It seemed a little odd that she would volunteer herself to be the third wheel on a date but it was the best way to go if you want to make sure that your best friend is with a decent guy. Which he likes to think he is.

After realizing what she said about her liking him, his face started to turn a bright red. Without thinking about it all the way through, he put both hands over his face to hide his blushing cheeks. Based on his sudden actions, he made it seem all the more obvious that he was blushing big time. 'Way to go genius,' he thought to himself.

Helen took a breath, fully ready to continue ranting about Manda, but stopped when she noticed Satoshi blushing like a schoolgirl. It’s… actually pretty cute. She smiles, trying to hold back a laugh, but can’t help herself and is soon giggling just a little too loud to be ignored. “I-I’m sorry, you’re just so…”

Oh dear God, how the hell can this get any worse for him? Not only does he look like a cherry around a girl he had affectionate feelings for, but she can clearly see that fact right on his face. For one moment he was flattered, the next he wants the ground to swallow him whole. He tries his best to muster enough mental strength to ask a simple question.

"I-I'm so what?"

Please don't let this go as badly as he thinks it will.

Satoshi slightly jolts as he felt her hand on his. He didn't know that his heart could pound any faster in his chest. But he tries to compose himself since he doesn't want her to be concerned about his health. Even though he secretly wants to die right then and there...he has never felt so alive either. He clears his throat so he can finally speak like a real human being.

"I-I'm fine. There is nothing to worry about. I'm sorry for arousing concern."

She’s quiet for a moment, just looking him over and enjoying the moment. Helen would LOVE to actually spend some time with the guy at a place that was a little more… intimate? Less fancy, easier to let loose, less anxiety-inducing… And also somewhere she could get away with not being so formal. “Do you want to leave? Just ditch our ‘chaperone’ and go do something fun?” She motioned toward Manda with a short nod. The other woman was still on-stage dazzling the crowd, having the time of her life. “I think she’d be able to find us if she really needed to, but this place is a little formal even for me.”

While this adorable little exchange was going down, Manda had been busy looking cute and belting out old jazz classics. She’d stopped to get a drink of water when she noticed Helen and Satoshi getting a little closer than she was comfortable with… She knew Helen’s ‘suitors’ rarely stuck around for long, but she took a lot more of a vested interest in this because… Uh…

Honestly, she knew Satoshi and Helen would get along well and he could have the potential to stick around longer than Helen’s usual guys. But, Manda was too impulsive and too in denial to admit that to herself. All Manda knew was that she needed to stick around and make this date as awkward as possible.

When she saw the two getting along, she wasn’t sure how to react. But, she’d still tail them around in the hopes she could keep them from getting closer, thus leading Helen right back into her arms… In theory…

Satoshi mentally prepares himself for the worst possible outcome. There is at least one good thing to cone out of being a pessimist. It doesn't hurt as badly when reality slaps you in the face...until reality becomes a wingman for once in his life. He looks at Helen with a slightly surprised look on his face. He does like the idea of being alone with her, but he also fears the outcome of the now blonde third wheel. But it doesn't hurt to at least know a little bit more about the situation at hand.

"Where exactly do you have in mind?"

She shrugs, “Well, that little street fair you saw earlier is probably open, or there’s the beach, a few bookstores, we could get a few beers and check out the dessert…” Helen had seen most of the sights in the area, so she didn’t have anything specific in mind. She spent a LOT of time in Calabasas due to her gently-enforced friendship with Manda. But, the idea of just hanging out really appealed to her stereotypical ‘county girl’ side. “Whichever you’re more interested in.”

Manda passed a few bills to one of the waiters, then stood back to watch what would happen. She felt a LITTLE bad for what she’d done, but again she was a little too impulsive to feel bad until AFTER it happened.

The waiter ducked into the kitchen for the time being. She’d just gotten the biggest tip she’d ever seen! It was totally worth embarrassing a few college kids for.

In all honesty, just spending time with Helen anywhere would make him feel satisfied. The area of Calabasas is completely new to him so he was open to anything. But maybe that street fair only comes around every once in a while so it might be interesting. God he hopes that she doesn't find that boring. Also...did she say beer?

"Hm, perhaps we can that check out that fair for now and later on we can grab a few drinks on the beach. That way there are less people around."
